The Vault

Here I’ve archived some gems from my music career. Most of these are songs I wrote. And a couple are just performances I guitared on.

 Brian w/ Mateo

Since May of 2019, I’ve been jamming with a beautiful sax player named Mateo, of Playing for Change.

Backing Up Grandpa Elliott

From 2016 to the present, it’s been my honor to play guitar behind New Orleans’s iconic Grandpa Elliott.

My favorite street musician singing for everybody.

Christmas Shit

I’m planning my retirement around collecting royalties from viral Christmas music.

A Christmas song all y'all special someones

Hudson and Harlan

Here are recordings of myself and my dear friend Matt Harlan from circa 2011-2013.

Recordings Ahead of Comfort Quest

Here’s a few videos from circa 2013 I posted ahead of releasing my album Comfort Quest.

I stopped off at a country McDonald's early one morning and overheard a conversation... and then I wrote a song about it.

This is a song written by my ex-bandmate Hudson Mueller. It was always one of my favorites to do when we played together. This video is dedicated to David Power who was one of our band's first fans and reliably came to see us in Galveston requesting this song every time.

This is a song I wrote shortly after moving to New Orleans. The video is dedicated to Kathi Appelt. Kathi helped push my Kickstarter campaign over the top and so I gotta say thanks. The audio was recorded with an AKG 414 and a Shure 57, Focusrite Saphire 56 interface, and Protools 10 rig.

Brian Hudson - Live on KPFT

Here are a couple of videos from a radio show I did at KPFT in Houston, Texas in 2010 or 2011. Pardon the tuning of my voice, but that’s what just what I sound like w/o reverb.

Brian Hudson performs on Houston's KPFT with Roark Smith hosting.

The Nasty Clan

The Nasty Clan was a short-lived rock band I formed with Hudson Mueller and Kivett Bednar in Austin in 2008, active through 2009. These are some of the best recordings I’ve ever been a part of.

The Hudsons

Still the highlight of my music career, from 2001-2009, I played music with my dear homey Hudson Mueller as part of a band called The Hudsons. We worked with violinists Phoebe Hunt and Leah Zeger as well as bassist Jason Vopni. Here are a bunch of recordings from around 2007-2009.
